removing EGR solenoid valve

i got the code for the EGR solenoid valve and bought one and found where it is in the engine bay, but i'm not sure how to get it out. i cannot get the 3 hoses off the solenoid and then i'm not sure how to unscrew it. i'm hoping someone on here can suggest an easy way to get this thing out or tell me what tools might help.

to remove the hoses, you can use a flat head screw driver and just pry them off. put it in near the valve and play around and you should be able to get them off. to get the nut underneath, goodluck! i had a heck of a time, it took 3 attempts before i actually got it loose. get a wrench under there and hold it tight, i think it's 10mm but forget offhand, then twist the actual valve unit the opposite way to loosen the nut. i removed my intake and intake snorkel so i could gain access from the side. it's a tight area so you have to use your imagination and figure out what works best for you. hope this helps and goodluck!

thanks alot man, that helped tremendously. the only problem i ran into that i couldn't solve was getting that screw back under the solenoid valve, i keep dropping damn thing and now i've lost it. but other than that no worries and i've replaced my first part on this car or any car by myself, i feel good.

glad to hear it. like i said, it took me 3 tries to get it out because that one bolt was on there so tight and i just couldn't make it budge but eventually got it. i left the old one in there with a replacement part installed but not bolted down but then when i got the time i finally tried again and successfully removed the old one. it got so frustrating i nearly cut the support bracket to remove the old one but it eventually popped loose anyways. good job!
