Oil Filter won't go on

I've tried 2 15208-55Y00 Nissan filters. They start but quickly bind like they are cross-threaded. The old Bosch 3323 filter goes on and off like butter. Why won't the new filters fit?

Because that is the part number for 1989-1994 3rd gen engines.

I'm so smart. I had them for my 300zx and I thought they were the same for some reason. Thanks.

I have found genuine Nissan filters make the valve lifters much quieter FWIW.
