O2 bypass?
O2 bypass?
I was checking the codes and came up with a 1001(front O2 sensor), and was curious to know if anyone has ever tried or knows if this is a very bad idea to bypass the O2 sensor by using a resistor of equal value
first of all, you don't bypass front o2 sensors, you'll get HORRIBLE gas mileage and power.
Second of all, you cannot bypass any o2 sensor with a resistor, as its output changes rather often, a few times a second or so.
So no, buy a new front o2 sensor, you'll get better gas mileage.

Not a problem, that is why we are here
If you call up oxygensensors.com (number on website), you get free shipping over $50 (good if you are buying both fronts) and if you ask for your maxima.org discount (I think its still valid), you get 10% off. I got both front o2 sensors generic for ~$80 shipped. Pretty cheap if you ask me. Granted I had to cut and solder the wires, but well worth it!
