Hey
I was wondering if the racing straight pipe that is always for sale on ebay is worth buying. The sellers say it gives bewteen 7-15 hp. Let me know if you know anything. Thanx

Ya i've seen that on ebay before too, its hard to believe that some guy on ebay has some mod that companies like stillen and cattman don't have, so my guess would be that it doesn't do too much or won't be a very ideal mod for the noise or other problems it would cause.

the test pipe is like a hardcore mod. it will only really help if you have foreced indution and have load of horsepower. when you are at 400+ hp trying to gain every bit more, the cat does become quite restrictive. i can see how 15 hp gain is doable, but only for hardcore racers with super tuned cars and stuff.

Dablaxima: wut do you mean by a straight pipe?? you mean no cat or open exhaust??

_DRU_: hm..i think you are wrong on this topic, i just now got a Test pipe from a local muffler shop. the result is very very impressive, maybe it is alittle loud, but i think it is worth every penny.

thats good to know. i was planning on doing this mod (only 30 something dollars) but i was told that there was no noticable gains, so i just forgot about it. what other mods do you have on your car? im sure that a y-pipe, intake and catback will increase the performance outcome. thanks

Hey, give us the lowdown on the pipe. I'm definitely thinking about going that way if I get some positive feedback from you guys...Broken Motor- louder the better for me, but more importantly, how impressive was the acceleration after the pipe installed? Can you feel it? Dru, let me know if you put the pipe on, since you and I have similar cat-back setup with domestic exhaust. Thanks!
