If I'm not mistaken, I believe '99 was the only 4th gen year w/ TC.

Yep. With manuals you control the traction yourself.

Mine has it too but I usually turn it off.

I've heard of multiple civic owners getting tc and from what i understand its not too hard to do. If anyone knows how to do this, share.

Yup, TCS was only available on 99's with auto and ABS. The Canadian SE's/ES's and possibly GLE's have Limited Slip Differentials too.

I'm so happy I got a Max with TCS where I live...it was working overtime a couple days ago on a one way street uphill when I was trying to pass a pickup that was stuck in the snow. My old 98 GLE sucked in snow/icestorms because you'd sit in one spot and the wheels would just spin.

I've never heard of it being added aftermarket before...where can you find the kits?

Places like Racetronics.com or Moretraction.com. (First 2 sites that came up in a search)

I just recently bought my 99 SE and since it started snowing ive been trying to test out the TCS mainly by stomping on the gas and then violently turning the wheel (in empty parking lots dont try this at home ) heh....I've been successful at making the SLIP light come on but i dont feel the car slowing down or maybe im not going fast enough or it happens to quick for me to notice, i dunno.

You should be able to hear it a little (it sounds kind of like the ABS brakes) and you should feel it slowing the car too. Try hitting the gas without turning the wheel and maybe you'll notice better.

!

Try one of these: http://media.putfile.com/Maxfun

If your engine speed drops when you're flooring it, then it works.
