Clockwise is correct... (i.e. lefty-loosey). Just get a rubber mallet and tap the rachet/wrench and it will break loose. Most likely it's just overtightened. Or get a breaker bar and a 14mm socket...

...Are you serious?

...you've already got your answer, I'm just wondering whether or not you're serious about this question.

lefty loosey... you have to turn it left... meaning oppsite of the clock's hand movements... like 12...11...10...9... last time i checked... that's counter-clock wise...

I don't think he should be working on his car at all.

Please step away from the vehicle and go directly to a quick lube center from now on.

I can't even imagain whats gonna happen when he gets to the oil filter.

Get your ratchet, turn the switch to 'off ' No thinking then!
Better yet, use your impact wrench!

Counter-clockwise. when in doubt, take your right hand point your fingers towards the sky. Curl your fingers in a counterclockwise direction and your thumb points "out" toward you. If you turn your arm and curl your fingers in a clockwise direction your thumb points "in" as in a bolt going into a hole. Difficult to explain on paper, but before you go using a breaker bar or impact you better know know what direction to turn it.

There should not be more than one person on this site that doesn't know how to losen a f&ckin bolt...
If you losen it counter-clockwise and it doesn't come off-take it to a shop and tell them to hand tighten it because they should not tighten an oil bolt with an airtool...

I've seen mechanics use impact wrenches to install drain plugs at the local 10min oil change joint.

Then you better stay far away from that place, thats the stupidest thing ive heard anyone doing in a while. the damn things are only supposed to be like max 30 ft lbs. Using an impact wrench would clearly rip the threads right out of the pan. -Ryan

Even if the limit is 10 minutes, it takes 2 seconds to screw on with your hands and an extra sec to tighten. The pan is extremely thin compaired to the rest of the car. Just wait til they strip it with the impact.

Drill a 1/2 inch hole into the bottom of your oil pan. (Do not remove drain bolt because it is welded shut at the factory). Once oil starts pouring on the ground, immediately tap oil filter with large mallet. This will loosen all solids in the filter. Sometimes a sawzall will be needed to remove the oil filter. Remember to put sawzall in reverse to loose the filter. Once oil and shavings are on ground, flush out oil system with cold tap water. This water will cool your bearings and prep them for the new oil. Finally tape closed the hole you just drilled into oil pan and add 5 qts of 75w-90 gear lube to crankcase. Thicker is always better. Just think of when you eat pancakes...thicker syrup taste better right?
Now fire up the engine and hold at redline.

That's it! Your done.
