Ahh it's the big black square box with a plug, it is located in between the throtle body and the air filter box. To remove it just remove the 4{10mm?} bolts and the clamp and then reverse the operation when you install it. BTW Make sure you do not over tighten the 4 bolts because the plastic will snap and cause you a big headache, so just get the bolts on snug but not too tight.

its my understanding that the 95/96 max have the o2 sensor inside the air box where will this mount once the air box is removed

I think you are referring to the air temp sensor. If you just have the adaptor you may have to just strap it to some existing wiring outside the filter. Or you can slide it in the cone filter. There won't be a place to mount it on the adaptor so you'll have to be creative.

I just slipped mine into the cone, then slipped the rubber over the adaptor, I've had this setup for around 18mths, and haven't had any problems with it, good luck !
