Suspension work

I need some suspension repair work done. I have one more shop to check before I get it done, but I have a question. I need a lower control arm and a new rack(says the mechanic). My question is, is it possible to replace the bushings in the control arm and the rack? I saw that both bushings were bad, and if I could replace just the bushings it would be a LOT cheaper. So, is this possible? If so, where can I get it done? More importantly, is it more economical? What are your thoughts, guys?

Typically the control arm will come with bushings, and run anywhere from 80-140$ depending on where toy get it.

In order to just change the bushings, it's a matter of pressing them out, or finding means to do so.

I had to do the entire arm since I met a curb that wasn't so friendly.

YES you can just buy the bushings. My brother changed all his on his pathfinder. Call the dealer and find out how much they are. Sometimes getting them in/out are a real biotch. If it happened to me, id do it myself. But... if you have the money and dont want to mess with it pay someone.

Cool.
I'll call the dealer tomorrow. I know a lot of shops would rather not replace the bushings because it's easier to just replace the whole control arm. Does anyone know of a shop in NYC that can/will do it?

With parts and labor, in the event that you payed for the shop to do it (change bushings ONLY)...

I would rather get an 80$ arm, and do it myself... Very easy job, and it looks shiny for a week or 2.
