I would like to change my climate control to the auto climate control that is in the GLE'S but I heard that theres more to do than just switching the instrument panels.
Anyone done this or know what I would have to get and the cost?

no way
there are extra sensors and gadgets and stuff all over the car, the climate control is very complex, danny martin was just talking about it a few days ago, it's not a money conscious project.

The automatic climate control is a sophisticated computer-controlled device. It relies on signals from four sensors.
- The in-vehicle sensor, attached to the A/C control finisher.
- The ambient sensor, attached to the radiator core support.
- The sunload sensor, located on the right defroster grille.
- The intake sensor, located on the cooling unit housing.

I believe this conversion is possible but costly and probably not worth the effort. To judge by past posts on this newsgroup, the automatic climate control is more failure-prone than the manual type and replacement parts are expensive.
