KYB GR2 are on

I chose the KYB GR2 mainly for their inexpensive price. They are rated to be 15% stiffer than stock. After their installation, I can say Wow! They make a difference compared to the worn 150 000 km old original stock shocks. The front of the car no longer "bows" down when I brake, but stays pretty much level. I should have changed the shocks sooner.

Installation note: I installed the shocks myself. I used a spring compressor. I experienced a snag when one of the front hubs swiveled down too far, to the extent the CV splined shaft disconnected from the CV joint GNAHHHH! Inexperienced, I had a hard time pushing it back in. I tought I needed to remove the whole CV shaft, and take it in a bench vise. A friend mechanic came over, he pushed back the CV boot, and re-inserted the shaft in 2 minutes. He didn't fear putting his hand in the CV grease to get a better feel of the shaft and the mating part inside the boot. A new boot clip was installed and voilą!

Stock shocks were too old, too soft. Mine were definitely due. Shocks wear gradually, you dont really notice it, untill you change them. $216.

if you plan on dropping the car don't get gr2s... trust me... I made that mistake
but for stock replacement they feel really nice.
improved responce but still comfortable driving (stock springs only!)
