Could this be an electrical problem?

I hope it is just a fluke, but the other day I went to turn on my car and the strangest thing happened. Just when the key got to the point where the car would turn over everything shut down. So I turned the key off and tried my accessories, the head unit clicked on and immediately turned off. After trying a couple of times I get out and try locking it, that doesn't work either. So I figure the battery connection must be bad, so I pop the hood, before I actually touch anything I try my keyless again and it works... hmm.. I jump in the car and it starts up like nothing happened. Now was my car just being lazy that day or could this be something to check out.
