My A/C Compressor bearing is screaming, and the dealer tells me that they have to replace the whole unit..... TRUE or FALSE? I'd like to replace the bearing only or maybe even just the clutch assembly.... whatever I can do to keep this cheap anyone have experience with this???

You can rebuild it yourself if it's the clutch assy thats making the noise. If it's the compressor screaming, then your better off with a new one. Bearings can be baught at machine shop supply houses, check your local yellow pages.
