How to avoid CEL after using drop resistor?

I have been using the drop resistor mod on a WOT switch for some time now a few months maybe. and the only drawback about it is that i have to reset my ecu after every run, sometimes i just leave it but in back of my head im thinking the CEL is causing the car to run differently or maybe in safemode so i always end up reseting. Is there anyone out there that has done anything to avoid the CEL to come on after disconnecting the DR?

I think you'd know if you had an "important code"

Then just put it back when the car's acting
