It is a direct replacement for cat and is not legal. It is a $3,000 fine here in NJ for taking out the cat.

hhmm, there is practically no way for a cop to know if you have a straight pipe or not, unless you go to big car meets late late at night. my friends go out a lot and sometimes they get swarmed by cops and thats one thing they look for. they have a stick with a mrrior and a flashlight. unless you go to street races or meets, im pretty sure no one will know.

i want to get one, but not till my y-pipe. there is an e-mail address floating around here(search) of a guy who will make them for our cars for under $35 shipped, somewhere around that price. i will get mine from him if its still available.

o yeah, $3000 fine in texas too, i think its $3000 nationwide.

There's a couple of them on ebay. There's no way the car will pass inspection with that and a ypipe. No cats = no sticker. olice:

 

Just wait until CapMax99 gets his straight pipe on. (He bought mine)

He'll do a review or somethin about it.. then you guys can decide if its worth the work between smog checks to run with a straight pipe.

 

There is no inspection and the cops never look if you have a cat or not here....hell they just don't care i guess!
