Seriously... I need a headlight bulb that will last for more than 3 months
I need a headlight bulb that will last for more than 3 months.... what is the bulb that will last the longest and will not look like the stock "yellowish" color.
Any advice will help. I already tried a "Xenon" but that only lasted 3 months before they both went out.
I advice on these bulbs fast becuse i can not drive at night with no headlight!
thanks.

xenon and colored bulbs usually blow up quickly ... get something thats not cheap...when it comes to headlight bulbs, you get what you pay for ....sylvania slverstars are good, very white light and last a long time...had mine for more than a year so far .. also piaa is excellent

That's curious. There's been tons of people complaining about the sylvania's not lasting that long. You're probably the first that I know that has something good to say about them. PIAA's might be a good alternative, apart from their cost. Someone else jump in here...
my overwatted nokya's have been in for a year and a month. maybe you have a slight sealant problem in you headlight and water is getting in, killing the headlight prematurely. have you done the ae mod and not properly sealed it up?

Ive had mine for over a year now too, but we are definatly exceptions because theres a new thread almost every week complaing about how short their silverstars lasted.
Try Sylvania Xtravisions.... I think I got a pair at Walmart for 18 bucks.... bright enough at night to see much better than with stock bulbs, but not so bright that people will hi-beam you. Also they're far whiter than the stock yellowish looking bulbs.
Do you touch the glass with your bare hand when installing?
The oils on your skin can leave residue on the bulb, thus causing hotspots and shortening their lifespans. I always wipe my bulbs down with rubbing alcohol before installing, and they last forever.

for the Xtravisions. Excellent light output for a bulb you can buy at Walmart!!! Excellent visibility in the rain too. I swapped my Piaa Extreme White Plus bulbs for the Xtravisions, because the light output of the Piaa's was horse$hit.
Silverstars = Crap
Xtravision = not as yellow, not white, but lasts a long time and illuminates well
HID = your ultimate choice
HID imitation bulbs with blue coating which most are over-wattage, don't get them unless u r going to upgrade the headlight harness. Still visibility is so so but becomes crappy during rainy weather. I'd say if you don't want or can't afford a real HID system, go with Xtravision.
GEEEEZ....how many more BULB threads are we going to have to see before the year ends?

It wouldn't, if they are designed as over-wattage like some of those PIAA Xtreme Whites, etc. Only thing is that their life expentancy would be way shorter than regular halogens. But you really cannot over-watt a bulb per se unless your car is running on something way above 12-14 volts.

Get the Phillips vision+ from www.suvlights.com. They supposedly have the highest lumens of any other bulbs besides the OSRAM silverstars (not to be confused with the silvania ones), but they dont come in 9004. Ive had them on for almost a half a year and no probs whatsoever.
9004 Cool Blues working fine for over a year (got them when they were buy 1 get 1 free at Pep Boys I think) - made sure not to touch them when I put them in (going to do 9007 w/ XtraVisions when the weather gets warmer)
