Wheel alignment - Please help!

My max's alignment has been off for the past 2 years, it's been a few degrees off but definitely noticeable. 2 questions:

1) Meineke quoted me $50 for "front wheel alignment". Do I need to get anything in particular done or just "front wheel alignment", and should I get it done by Meineke?

2) How much damage could I have done by not getting an alignment sooner?

I need to know the answer to #1 soon - I have an appointment with Meineke for tommorow, PLEASE HELP!

Just get the thing aligned, most shops have the right equipment for our cars, even Meineke. It's not hard, it's just a front toe adjustment while centering the thrust angle of the vehicle.

Damage done would simply be tire wear.

This would as good place as any to pose this question (it relates to the question being asked). Just to double check since the rear is non-adjustable, it is in spec as long as the front struts are in spec? So just a front wheel alignment is needed, and once in spec, you could take off your rear shocks put them back on and they will still be in spec since, the front wasnt tampered with. Is this correct?
