Help!!!

I have a 99 Nissan Maxima SEL and it died on me without a warning and i dont't really know what's wrong with it. When I got of the work the car was working normally, but when i stopped and turned of the car, it would start, and it would die right away. I tried to start it again, and give it some gas, and the car would not take gas at all, it would just die. And then after that it wouldnt want to start at all, it would crank, but it wouldn't start.

Thanks for all the help guys, and sorry about my English, i know it sucks.

First thing check your battery.

Dead battery or lose terminal could be the culprit.

you may have a bad fuel pump ... lift the hood and pump the gas to see if you smell any gas ....

Sounds like a bad MAF sensor to me. Do you have one of those lame oil soaked air filters? The oil kills MAF sensors.

Sounds like fuel pump to me, and chances are if you kept cranking too much you could have killed your battery as well. Happened to a Jeep that came into my shop today. Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key? Check for spark as well, but I'm willing to bet it's the fuel pump. If it is thank Nissan for making our fuel pump easy to replace since you don't have to drop the f'in gas tank

Check to see if the ECU has stored any error codes. The sticky on top of this page will help you. If you don't have any codes, you might have an immobilizer problem. The 99's security system has been known to immobilize the car without warning for what seems to be no reason at all. A tow to your local Nissan dealer is the only fix.

EDIT: If you'd like to rule out the MAF sensor, just unplug it. The car should start in limp mode. It will idle and run, limiting the RPM's to about 2500.

Yes, check the ECU codes. If you get an undefined code, your key may not be recognized. Yup, this happened to me. I had to pay $200 to have my key reprogramed. I had the same symptoms that you do. Care was fine one day, went to start the next, and it would kick over for a second, and die.

The battery is fine, I don't think it's the fuel pupm because when i turn the key, i can hear the pump.
Thanks a lot guys i'll check my ECU codes.

Since you have a 1999, when you start and it cranks, does the security light stay lit? If so, then it's your key.

My bet is cam pos sensor, too. Your symptoms sound the same as mine did when the cam sensor died.
