Clutch replacement....4th to 5th Gen?

I know that I saw a thread regarding replacing the clutch in the 4th gen with 5th gen parts. Yes, I tried search but am getting a msg saying I don't have privliges to do so. Looked at the FAQ's too but no luck. Anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks. Cheers

just use a 5th gen clutch. It feels good and is a direct replacement. (and i think cheaper often) The pressure plate is what you're upgrading. so just order 5th gen PP, TOB and clutch disk. and you're set.

Replacing a clutch is a bit out of my league so I'll be taking it to the Nissan dealer. Think they'll know what I'm talking about when I tell them to put in a 5th gen clutch and parts? Could have sworn that I saw in an earlier post the actual part no's etc. Well, I'm not going to have this done immediately so I'll "feel out" the Nissan dealer.

BTW, when the clutch is replaced does it require the MT trans fluid to be replaced too. I'm about due for that. I usually replace it myself with either Amsoil or Redline synthetic. Easy to drain but a bit of a pain to put in the new stuff even on a lift. Anyone has a hints or suggestions I'd appreciate it. Oh yes, if it has to be replaced when the clutch is replaced I'd probably bring in the Amsoil or Redline to the dealer...they're pretty good about it when I bring in my Murano with a 5qt container of Mobil 1. ** The Murano is my wife's car and she realllllllly doesn't like me to work on it Thanks and Cheers

I just had this done on my car using 5th gen parts. I ordered the parts from garrands nissan (http://www.garrands-nissan.com) for 181 shipped. Feel with the new clutch is really nice and I reccomend it. I also used redline MT-90 for the refill.

Great! Just what I was looking for. Think I'll try contacting some Nissan dealers and getting some quotes, like Courtesy Nissan, and then showing them to my local dealer to see if they'll match. Hey, who cares if they're in TX and I'm in GA. I'll see what they say after Xmas. Wonder how much labor will be?

Thanks to all. Cheers
