Trunk Stuck

Has anyone had this problem ? I can't open my trunk at all, I pressed the release button....nothing. I tried the remote... nothing. I then tried the key, and when I put it in it wouldn't even move. I thought maybe the lock was rusty (my hood latch was rusty, sprayed penetrating oil on it and it was fine) so I reached in through the backseat and sprayed penatrating oil on the lock. Still no cigar. What do I do ?

Stickies just say it could be the valey trunk lock thing being moved down but he said he tried it with the key and it is still no good.

If the "valey lever" (I don't think it's a valey thing) is activated, the trunk simply doesn't open, key or no key. You have to crawl or reach through the back seat pass through and push the lever up or down to allow the latch to work again.

The 'valet' lever should still allow the trunk to be opened by key when in the locked position, assuming proper operation of the trunk lock assembly. The entire point of it is just to disable remote opening of the trunk, whether by keyless or the button on the driver's side door. Key is still supposed to work, otherwise I can't see Nissan putting it there - a 'Here's a way to **** yourself over' lever.

I really hope the lock isn't jammed or bent.

I did have this happen to me once. Ironic that we had arrived at our vacation destination with a full trunk and then it happened. I had to pull the rear seat apart, remove the reinforcement behind the seat, and take a screwdriver and force the release lever manually. It just happened to jam, and afterwards it worked fine. It's a pain to get to the lever however if you can't get the trunk open in the first place.

I dont think a fuse would stop the key from turning.

Exactly. Happend to me twice. That is the only way to open the trunk

Problem solved ! I had to use my snow brush to reach the latch and force it upward, and the trunk immediately popped open. Thanks for the help everyone !
