Weird vibrating noise coming from rear right passenger wheel/rotor area
Hi all.
I was wondering if anyone had an issue like this before and whether you could determine what the problem is. I may eventually just bring it to a shop and see what they will say. The weirdest part is that it started happening right after I had a shop to mount and balance some snow tires onto my car. I don't think I'll ever go back there even though it may not be their fault.
Anyway, here's what happens.
I start the car when its cold and drive around with no noise (at least 5-10 mins on the road). Eventually, over a period of time, I will hear a metal vibrating noise from my rear right passenger wheel/rotor area. This vibrating noise happens without braking, but it does get a little worse once I brake every now and then.
The weird part of it is that when the car is steering to the left, the noise goes away. When I steer right, this grinding noise becomes extremely obnoxious!
Also, sometimes when I pull up my e-brake and pull the e-brake down (while the car is stopped), the noise will go away for a little awhile.
So I have no idea whether this could be bad wheel bearing? a bad brake caliper that isn't releasing correctly? a warped rotor? a defective e-brake cable? overtorqued lug nuts?
I am pretty sure my brake pads are perfectly fine and should have plenty of life left.
Any suggestions on what this could be? Thanks guys.
