Alright need a liitle help. My trany is messed up. When I put it in drive and start driving everything sounds fine until the trany needs to shift to 2nd (it doesnt) revs up to about 4 or 5000 RPMs then shifts (sometimes I have to let off the gas so it will shift) then it doesnt shift again. Ran it up to 80 MPH but still nothing. Running 65 MPH at 4 or 5000 RPMs, at 80 getting to close to 6500 RPMs. Is it my tranny? My knock sensor is also bad this wont cause it though.........right?

 

Your tranny is toast.

 

It's probably your solenoids or valve body.

 

Your tranny is missing gears. There is no reason for you to be at 5k at 80mph.

Check your ECU, yu most likely have a CEL.

What year and miles? CEL=check engine light. Sounds like it might be new trans time.

Is your speedometer working? 80K isn't a lot for a Max. I assume you've changed the fluid at least once by now. You made sure it's full, right? Is your check engine light on?

 

yes spedodometer is working, i have changed the fluid when ever this started about a year ago but i dont drive it much now because of this, and yes cel is on

 

have you changed trany oil latley? after 100k is not recommended.
