Aside from probably losing low end torque... it literally "sticks" and is bad for the environment and us...
Time to save for a RT catalytic or the likes...
so does the Cat have any effect on gas milage?
I recently failed my NYS emissions inspection, I suppose it's because of the cat since my NOx readings were above the limit. I still get like 190 miles per tank of gas, and I figured the problems are related. The mechanic told me it's the cat (referring to me failing the inspection). So is Chunger right? The cat doesn't hurt gas milage on an N/A car? I'm totally stock in terms of performance... My car feels very dead though, poor gas milage, strange smells when starting the car up... etc.. Is it clogged?
Yea, screw the environment
I can save a bundle on gas and beat some Acura off the road by disabling all the emmisions control stuff on my car. My kids won't need to breathe when they grow up. Let's pull all those scrubbers off the smokestacks too so we can save 20 cents on our next purchase of hand cleaner. My electricity bill would be a whole lot lower too if we just let the power company dump the nuclear waste out the back door of the powerplant.

Master Of The Obvious
I hear if you pull the seats out and cut the top off
your gas mileage will shoot through the roof. Of course gutting the cat will increase your gas mileage. I may be going out on a limb here but, part of the challenge is improving performance while being at least semi-responsible. This approach can be controversial, as it requires thinking.
If you really want to save money why don't you just leave the gas station without paying. That's just as illegal and the fine is a lot less.
Try a high flow CAT.

duh, evolution
eventually man will adjust to be able to breathe more and more levels of CaRbon Dioxide, dont worry about your kids bill, maybe the next generation of humans will have gills...
that would be cool.
that would be cool.

Re: Yea, screw the environment
Yeah actually I was thinking of using those nuclear waste rods as home decorations in my front yard.
