Bro, I don't know what everyone else is talking, but your local circuit city or equivalent should have a DEI keyless entry/alarm integration package available for $60 + install at base. This means you pay $60 plus $50 for the keyless entry (includes 2 remotes). I paid $110 out the door. Good range, no splicing or trying to mate modules. Do it the easy way, wish I did right away(save $$$)

I use the stock keyless entry along with the stock alarm, but i spliced a shock sensor into the system so it gets triggered if something (or somebody)bumps or lightly hits the car. It works great, i recommend it as its really inexpensive and works just as good as a lot of aftermarket alarms.

I have the Viper 1000, very good alarm, although alarm speaker that comes with it I find on the quiet side for alarm use. Might be that I expected it to wake the dead when its activated lol.

Ive got some sort of viper system. It includes remote start (have a 5spd though and no shop in KY will put it on), 5 or 6 channels you can hook strobes, underbodys, trunk release or what ever to. It includes shock sensors, tilts sensors, trunk sensor, hood sensor and anything else i forgot. Ive had it for about a year it was on my old car first (96 Ford Probe GT (yea i know)) . I paid about $350 when i first got it, comes with one remote. Its been good to me.

Funny story...I went to get in my car, car wouldnt unlock. Battery in car was so dead it couldnt disarm the system, so...I have to unlock door with the key. Naturally alarm goes off (6:30am) I hook up jumpers try to start car to shut off alarm...wont start...alarm doesnt shut off. Two and a half hours later i had to call the audio shop that put it in and get them to tell me how to turn it off. Moral of the story...even if someone wanted to steal the car they couldnt cause you need the key and certian instructions to shut off alarm.

p.s.-take car of the remote about $100 to replace one (only down side)

sorry for the length

B

I have an avital alarm. Dont know the model, but it has been fine for the last 3 years. I do wish it it had a better range. even when new, It pales in comparison to the stock range. oh well.

From what I've heard the stock alarm isn't really an alarm and is as good as simply locking your doors...

2 way alarm is the only worthy way to go IMO

I have an Omega MAX-E w/ 2way and remote start for $150 shipped off ebay

I use the Compu Star Spread Spectrum. The best step up they have and one of the best on the market. 2 way paging remote, Turbo timer (if needed), remote start with mile distance, alarm and R.P.S.
The second system in my car and the best one I used ina ny of my vehicles. Only the best for My maxima!!
