$8,000 for a '99 with 160k miles is too much. I bought my '98 with 130k for $3,600 last January. It wasnt fully loaded, but it was mint. IMHO a fully loaded car with more miles isnt worth more than twice one with less options.

I would continue looking. You can find a lower milage car fully loaded for less!

For that kind of miles, I'd actually think twice in purchasing a car...any car. Being that its a '99 model, the previous owner did some pretty serious driving with this car. If you are really set on purchasing this car, make sure that you have seen its service record. If its a dealer, they probably won't have service records and warranty in this vehicle is probably non-existent anymore. No matter how I look at this, its a bad deal. The worse thing you can do is pay that high, even with some discount, and end up having all kinds of problems later on. At that mileage, alot of things are going to need replacing! BTW, mine is a 1995 SE loaded (except ABS) and I have less miles than that.

At 160k I can tell you that the following is going bad or is already bad:

1) struts / bearings
2) misc sensors: o2, ects, ks, cps, tps
3) egr valve and related components/vacuum lines
4) valve cover gaskets
5) fuel injectors
6) coil packs
7) cv/rack n pinion boots
8) miscellaneous electrical related stuff, ie: power window motor/regulator, etc.
9) axle/seals/clutch/other drivetrain related components
10) ac compressor
11) power steering pump
12) alternator/regulator
13) engine/transmission mounts

I'm sure many others can add to this list. As you can see, the car might seem flawless on the outside but these are just a few of the many items that are worn/torn at that many miles.

I bought mine 99 se 5spd with 165000 for $4000 and I think I payed too much even though everything seems to work fine. I just got the CEL for the 02 sensors but other than that the car is fine. With that many miles it is likely that the previous owner drove on the highway quite a bit which is better for the car than city driving but $8,000 is way too much.
