CEL Self Diagnosis Problem?

Ok, now before someone says to check the FAQ's. My problem is a little different. I have self-diagnosed my car before, however this time the screw is missing, behind where it was, is a smaller white plastic phillips screw, that doesn't do anything. Anyone experience this before? The small white phillips is off center of the hole, and is hard to get to, but as far as I can tell it doesn't do anything. Is there another way to diagnose my car without taking it to the dealer? Thanks.

Schucks in the northwest will let you use their scanner for free with deposit, or they will walk outside and do it for you. I did that yesterday actually...

Thanks for the info, I was able to take my car into Autozone, they diagnosed it for me as a P1320 which they indicated says that I should replace all of my coil packs. He also said that if the problem had happened for more than a few seconds that they could probably diagnose exactly which coil pack was bad.
