Check Engine Light code p1447. Help!!

Just came from maximum tuning and was told my car needed a new flow control valve. Purchased it at Nissan and installed. Now about 80 miles later, the check engine light comes on again. Now it throws code P1447. What does this mean?

From the stickies:

0111
Diagnostic Trouble Code 0111 is detected when ...
- EVAP control system does not operate properly.
- EVAP control system has a leak in the line between intake manifold and EVAP control system pressure sensor.

Possible causes include ...
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve stuck closed.
- EVAP control system pressure sensor and its circuit.
- Loose, disconnected, or improper connection of rubber tube.
- Blocked rubber tube.
- Blocked or bent rubber tube to MAP/BARO switch solenoid valve.
- Cracked EVAP canister.
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
- Closed Throttle Position Switch.
- Improper connection of one-way valve.
- Blocked purge port.
- EVAP canister vent control valve.

This is a "jackpot" code. It points to so many possible causes as to be almost useless. It may be accompanied by another DTC which is more specific.

You probably already read this... but you're sorta SOL - because you got the jackpot code and it could be one of many things. I suppose you need to start going down that list and start to check and eliminate things. That definitely doesn't mean taking the shop approach and keeping throwing parts at it.

I would start with the Evap Canister and Canister purge solenoid valve. They have a tendency to fail after a period (age/miles).

P1447 = Evap Purge Flow Monitor fault.

Clear the error code and see if it comes back. If it does, go over your installation of the new flow control valve. Make sure it's working correctly.

Hello everyone. I have encountered the same problem as mentioned above. My OBD II scanner gave me P1447. My car is 1996 Maxima in an excellent mechanical condition. I have noticed that there are many reason that can activate this code. I'm not a mechanic and I do not know how to check all the components previously mentioned :-( What do you guys suggest I do? What order of operations should I follow? I need to have it fixed to pass my smog test. I would trully appreciate any suggestions and advice.

oh 1447 i love that code. i got it a couple months ago. basically, make sure youre not looking passed something simple like a clogged/cracked evap hose. if this isnt the case, buy a new vent control valve from the dealer ($120) and toss that bad boy on and you should be good. worked for me.

ps-please please please dont pay to have it put on. it took me literally less than 5 minutes with the car ON THE GROUND using ONLY a philips head screw driver and my fat fingers.

and if you dont know where to look, evap canistor is on the back left of the car right behind the bumper. looks like a big black box. and this pic is the vent control vavle:

(ignore arrows and rust, used that pic in different thread a while back)

EDIT: damnit you noobs. stop bringing up old posts!!

another cause for this problem also the cheapest fix. is look at the plugs that go into the valve posted above. then follow the wires back from the valve into the rear driver side wheel area. A lot of times the plastic covering the wires isnt doing a great job and causes the wires to crack and just plain break. Fix the break and it should be good.

CHECK THIS FIRST.. i replaced the canister valves and all then to find out it was the freaking wire..

Replace your KS. Also Check your EVAP lines.

Jackpot code is right

Failed inspection 6 months ago on this code P0443 evap purge volume control valve & P0325 knock Sensor changed the volume valve, solenoid and KS cleared codes did the 45 min drive cycle everything well and ready no codes no check engine light get in line for motor vehicle 10 mins b/f close on a Sat 2nd in line while waiting check engine light pops. I made the mistake of not securing the a vacum line and caused a P1447 code mine turned out to be a leak in the breather hose from the solenoid since the volume valve was the last thing I put on. Hope that helps someone. Now I gotta clear codes and do the drive cycle all over again. See ya Monday DMV.
