so you dropped urs from the bottom? I thought about doing that but we didnt know if the car would clear the motor with.out raising it anymore so we just took it from the top. It was a little tricky though because it wouldnt come straight up, we had to like get it tilted to get it out.

Wow that is some serious damage. Sorry about that. What are you planning to get next? another 4gen Max or are you going to to go 5gen? If you do go 4gen keep us informed on how you are going to use your old parts in the newer one.

yeah it was crazy when I got outta tha car and saw that I was like 'what?' then I looked up the road where I hit the guard rail and saw that after the impact my sub box flew out when the trunk popped open and was sittin on the ground. I already bought another 4th gen. Which is also a 95 and is also a 5spd. and white, so ill keep pics of progress posted!

Yeah it's way easier to take it out from the bottom, we left the y-pipe on and everything, we only had to wiggle it a little bit to clear the abs pump. We had it sitting on 6 big railroad ties. I actually didn't even know that it was possible to take it out from the top, that's good to know, though it's probably a bit more tricky. Glad to hear you got another 5-speed, maybe some other max owner will be lucky enough to do a conversion with your old stuff....

Interesting....question...any particular reason you're pulling the motor and tranny from the crashed one? I pulled my motor out from the top, I may try the bottom next time...whenever that will be...what are the plans for the new maxima?

well the bodyshop who painted my front bumper and lip like put the lip on and glued it or something to the bumper b4 painting which was dumb so thats wh there isnt paint there when the lip got ripped off. I took the motor and tranny out because im putting them in the new max. The tranny is bad in the new one and mine is really good. and im gonna rebuild my motor and then put it in.

I got rear ended pretty hard last week and my trunk didn't open. It looks ok but doesn't open now, I had to get my tools and stuff out of the trunk by removing the backseat.

Dude you should sell all of the 5-speed stuff (trans, axles, clutch cylinder, pedal assy, console, etc.) as a kit for someone to do a 5-speed swap.

taking it out from the top is easy. You need a helper to puch the tranny side of the engine down to tilt it as you take it out.
