GC with AGX info
GC with AGX info
So in a few weeks i might be riding on a new suspension from one of the org membersl. Eibach Ground Control coilovers and KYB AGX struts with about 25k miles on them, and a stillen camber correction kit(the $355 one).
I have a stock 99 gxe 5spd. I just want some personal reviews from people who have this setup, or something close to it. Basically anybody that has Ground Control, or has ever been in a car with Ground Control, please chime in and tell me about the ride/handling/noises. I'm somebody that enjoys a stiff ride, but i dont want it to knock my fillings out. I checked out the maxima bible, and it says these coilovers are a harsh ride, i just want to know how harsh. The roads around these areas are pretty good, but on my way to work, the roads arent that good with a bunch of cracks and splits in them(on I-275).
I'm also very interested in the handling of a setup like this. I won't be slamming the car down very low, maybe a 2 inch drop maximum, because i don't want to deal with broken axles and stuff like that.
Also i'm interested in the noises. I read that the spring rubs on something and squeaks? I also read that i can solve it by grinding something down? All in all, how quiet is this setup?
One last thing. How reliable is this? I mean, i know quality springs dont really go bad but these are sleeve coilovers, so im just wondering. I know the struts probably have at least another 20k miles on them, is that pretty much correct?
I really need these questions answered guys, i dont want to dish out such a big pile of money and then realize that this setup wont work well for me. I would really appreciate some detailed responces. Thanks!!

from waht i hear GC are real stiff and are pretty harsh fro DD.....also make sure the GC u get if getting new and not wqith a package deal are for AGXs....i emailed them and they have dofferent GCs for different struts....u will prolly feel every bump....they are susposed to handle great for auto-x and raodcourse but if thats not u u may want to rethink and maybe go with regualr EIbach pro-kit or S-techs

1st what rates do you have?
2nd dont lower it more than 1.5" on the stock size struts.
3rd you are better off with konis, im working on a shortened setup to get back the lost travel.
I have been on agx and 3 different sets of springs. i just bought GC 450/375 so im expecting quite a different ride. granted im not going to slam it, but with the konis it should ride pretty good with the added travel.

am riding on KYB AGX but with TEIN spring, the problem i kno yu will have for sure is that you will hear noises, from your KYB. KYB ABX is really good, mess around your setting a lil then yu get the right setting for your GC, but am telling you this first, if yu lower it too low, your KYB cant handle it and it will blow. Listen to BLACK MAXIMA, get yourself a coilovers so yu wont cry later. I'm getting one soon, D2, TEin Basic, or K2sports, but still doing researches and comment on those. NEED HELP!!!
