Max seat and height question

Hey guys, i finally racked up the 15 posts so i can start a new thread. It's funny because i'm not one to just post randomly. I'm kind of a lurker as you can see by my register date, i'd rather learn what i need to by reading. This is one time that i need to ask a question because i couldn't find it on the poor mans search.

Here's the deal, i'm 6'5 ( 6'6 with boots ) and have only sat in an automatic max. I plan on getting a 4th gen when i move to texas next month and i want it in manual. Only problem is i don't know what it feels like to try and switch the gears with the space given.

So, i've come to the questions of, does anyone have a racing seat ( or alternative seat ) that sits lower than the stock one ? ( or know of seats that will seat me lower )

And how tall are you 4th gen max owners ? I know i fit great in a 5th gen but i won't have the money for one plus i love 4th gens.

I'm 6' 2 1/2" and I have absolutely no height problems. How about you sit in one and take a test drive for a day or so to see if it suits you.

I'm about 6'2" - 6'3" and i dont' have any problems at all, like the other guy said, you should probably test drive a manual max to be sure, everyone's taste is different.

I just posted the same info in another thread, but basically you can make 350z seats fit and they will ride a smidge lower than the maxima ones.

Remember though that if you are big (wide shoulders or back), the 350Z seats are narrower than the Maxima's, and definitely have more lateral support, which becomes uncomfortable over time beacuse you can't move at all in the seat. I think that the 350 seats are great for racing your Max, but if you use it for daily transportation you may want to consider an aftermarket seat that is available in wider sizes. I believe Cobra seats do. Of course unless you are tall and thin, in which case the Z seats will be perfect for you.

Just my opinion.

I have a manual 97 Se. I'm 6'4" and when I first got it I had to get used to sitting with my seat at the lowest level. It took some time since I was just getting out of a big Saab 9000. I'm pretty confident though that you'll find them ok for your height. Good luck.

Cool, thanx for the info fellas. I'm not totally slim, around 265lbs but i'm lazy so it's not exactly " worked out " lol. I used to work as a porter at a used car dealership a few years ago and sat in a 350z just to see how poorly i would fit in it...CRYKIE that car is really made for ppl 5'10 and down ( if that ).

The max will be a daily driver as i've come to understand that there's no type of reasonable public transportation in denton tx so ehh, yea i'd want to be as comfortable as possible. I'll take the advice and just try and drive a manual ( whenever i learn how to drive stick lol ) but i just want to know my options that might be available if it's not in the comfort zone to me.

I'll look into the 350z seats if it doesn't work out with the stockers but, just one last question. As far as racing seats go do they all basically sit you lower ? I've sat in some racing seats that one of my friends had in his turbo accord ( the name of the seats excapes me right now ) but he had the rails welded so i was never able to push my seat back and i looked like i was in a clown car.
