a/c blows from heat vents no matter what!

Hi all,
as said above no matter what setting the ac control is on the air comes out the a/c vents AND the floor vents, how is this controlled? I have not taken the control panel for the A/C out yet but will when I replace the stereo....any help?

We need more info!

What setting is the fan on?
What setting is the air flow on?
Is this while driving?
Do you have automatic or manual climate control?

more info

Fan postion does not matter, 1 2 3 4 speed works as advertised as far as fan speed. Now, as for flow control buttons, any setting provides the same result, just as if I had the dash/floor button selected. Driving or idling, no difference, I have the manual system. (NO climate control). It is if as if the doors in the A/C system are not responding to input. I have no idea if it is controlled by vaccum or electric motors. (sometimes if I really SLAM the air direction buttons, in the past, I have been able to get it to flow from the selected vents, but now even that has quit working, but that kind of leads me to believe that the control head may be bad....maybe?)
I will be pulling the stereo in prep to sell the car and can pull the A/C control head, but am not sure what to look for......loose wires or bad vaccum hoses. I am going to a u-pull-it used parts place tomorrow and probably can get a control head IF that is the problem, but I don't want to buy anything I don't need....as I said the car is going to be sold...
Any ideas?
TIA

Well either the Climate Control had gone bad or there is a loose connection in the back. Try taking it out and reseating all the connections in the back. If that doesnt work buy one from a junkyard.

Anyone here actually KNOW how the A/C doors are controlled?

As stated above, does anyone here actually KNOW how the A/C control actually works? Is it vaccum or electrical? (what opens and closes the air direction doors in the system) That is all I really need to know.
When I figure it out I will post a FAQ on it, but till then I was hoping for some substatnial answers......anyone actually know? I do not have a factory manual and at this point (prior to selling the car) I do not intend to buy one. I might buy one for my 96SE but not for the 97...(95 to 96 4 and 1/2 gen 97 to 99 actually 4th gen is the way I look at it).....any ideas?
TIA

comprehension > you

Climate Control means just that. There are 2 different forms Auto and Manual. Manual is the one you have.

Its electrical. Check the connections behind the MANUAL Climate Control. I gave you substantial answers you just didnt understand them.

Climate control in loose terms, usually used on this site means, just that, automatic climate control. You are right, I did not understand you, and if they are electrical, that is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks a million! What is your gut feeling on this? you think it's the control panel or the motors opening and closing the doors for flow control? I have a gut feeling it's the panel as because as I stated I could SLAM the buttons and get them to work for a while but now that dosen't work either. I am a smoker, and the smoke rising from the ash tray runs right up the A/C control head..I think it may be bad contacts in the A/C control unit......any insight?
TIA

My gut feeling is that if you could hit the climate control hard enough to make it work every now and again there is a loose connection some where.

Either position provides the same results....recirculate or freshair, always blows from heat vents and dash vents...

with my standard acc off, if i was using the upper vents last, i will still feel some air out of the upper vents.. (like heat).. so i usually switch it to the floor before i turn it off, then turn it off, and whatever comes out comes to the floor and is too little to notice
