Price to install Stillen kit?

Was just wondering what you guys with the Stillen lip kit paid to get it installed? Not painted, just installed. I bought this off of Q (Nismotic) and we tried installing it on Sunday. Let's just say we didn't get very far. I think we both thought that it was gonna be a piece of cake to install. Neadless to say we didn't have the correct tools, etc. so instead of waisting both our time in the cold, I just decided I was gonna take it to a body shop. I'm thinking it can't be more than $150 to slap it on real quick. What do you guys think? Again Q, not your fault and thanks again for the great deal on the kit.

Sunday sucked, but once you get that kit on, it'll look damn sweet.

With the tools from a shop, it should be a sinch to get it installed. Shoot for 50 bucks as your highest.

BTW, anj109 (alex) is a great person to deal with.

No one's going to install a kit for $50 unless you get buddy buddy with the place. I would say its going to be between 150 - 200. They're going to charge for probably 2 - 3 hours of labor. I would personally just invest the money into the right tools and do it myself, and since I already have the tools just do it myself, but the space and patience issues may outweigh that.

He already knows some people, so $50 bucks is realistic. The kit basically contains laying down the 3m tape and screwing it in. It should not take a bodyshop more than an hour. If they claim it will take more, call it a day.

Alex, there was a guy at my bodyshop that installed my kit, but he's not there anymore. If i can locate him, i can try to get you a mad cheap deal. Ill be in touch

u dont need any tools but a few screws. this is what i did and mine is rock solid.

wash and clay bar the area's that the kit is gonna be attached to. get urself 3m double sided tape. place double sided tape on the car where the lip will go. the more u use, the harder it is to come off. put a lot on the front bumper. i myself put two FULL rows on the side skirts and 3-4 rows on the front lip. let the tape dry onto the car and stick. peel off the wrapper and slap on the kit all around. use 4 screws for the front lip. 2 on each side and screw it into the fender right where the tire is. done deal.

in order to latch the screws into the wheel well base, we needed to remove the rear wheel. The 3m tape wasn't cooperating since it got pretty cold. The drill we had couldn't drill into the metal base.

Believe me man, I thought it was going to be that easy as well. The fact that my "driveway" had limited space made it frustrating for both of us.

I used a drill, a drill bit set, 3M heavy duty exterior mounting tape (two or three rolls), and the self tapping screws Stillen included. It's easier if you take off a wheel so you'll have more room to work/drill. I believe there is even a How-To floating around somewhere on vqpower.com. It's not hard, but it might take a while if you're like me and take your time. I agree with the others though, bodyshops will charge up the wazoo to install it for you. The bodyshop that painted my kit wanted an additional 250 on top of the cost of painting to install it. f-that!

That would be awesome. Have you installed one of these before? I have a cordless power drill but I don't have any bits for metal (I could pick some up though or maybe self tappers?). Let me know and maybe we could meet up at a park or something where people wouldn't mind. Thanks man.

um....NO..... Alex...I would suggest doing it in a garage in order for the 3M tape to be more effective...ie...heat gun and what not....otherwise you may want to wait until the spring...hit me on the PM

but how easy is it to make the installation clean without any screw heads showing or rivets? if only the 3M tape was strong enough on it's own...

will do, but they really aren't noticeable, just there to attach them to the fenders and underneath the car....cleaning the kit up nice and good right now and getting all the old 3m tape off (pain in the a$$).

Uh wtf, why would it not be noticeable on a black max? If anything it looks the best on a black max.

yeah, it would look great, assuming the rest of the car isn't crap. did you ever see Nismotic before he started parting out? that car was You'll probably have to go through Stealin or find a used one on here or something.

I already miss the kit, but handing it down to anj and keeping it local is a good bet. His car will look 10x sicker than mine.
