Bypassing the KS. A Bit Confused.

i think im gonna try the bypass.

i am confused as to which part of the harness you are supposed to put the resistor in.

unplug the sub harness from the KS itself, then shove a resistor in where the sub harness normally connects to the KS?...

is that right? or is there another part of the connector towrads the front of the engine that is a lot easier to access that i am going to be putting the resistor in?

i have a 95 GLE fyi. i attempted to undo the harness today just using my hands and it looks like i put them in a garbage disposal. anyone help is appreciated.

uh yeah ibe been reading that post ad nauseum and searching all day. it does not specify whether you put the resistor on the connector that goes right onto the knock sensor...

or if there is another connection part where the resistor goes.

Why would you do that? Seems like a receipe for a trashed engine. The KS is there for a reason.

I would say you need to take the KS off, as in replacing it.

The connector right at the knock sensor has a wire pin/clip that you have to pry out first, then the sensor will come out.

Subharness to the main engine harness or subharness to the knock sensor?

The connect to the engine harness is just a regular connector with a plastic press-clip.

I can definitely help you with the KS, but not with projectors.. I'm on the latest and greatest headlamp technology -> known as 9004s

Ok - if this is all to bypass the KS, then once again

Just unplug the subharness from the main harness and slap the resistor in there.

ok i think i found it.

i pulled apart a connector and hmm lemme try to explain this. one end was like the vag and the other was like the peen. like one slipped into the other. it seemed as though the resistor would go on the 'peen' end.

im sorry im havn a hard time iwth this..

Put some black tape around it and zip tie it somewhere.

You might want to trim it down so it's not sticking out so far.
