can you guys post pics of 4th gens on 02-03 OEM SE wheels?
I am looking into getting a set for my car.

I wanted to buy newer maxima rims myself, i found these 350z rims on friday at my local dealership. they were take off rims from a customer that did an upgrade, they rolled em out the back door for me for $350 with excellent condition brigestone potenza's. go to your local dealer and ask them if they have any take off rims if your looking for that kind of factory-ish look. you might be suprised what they have laying around

cool. I am dropped on HR's/illuminas. Im really torn between these and the 17 inch MM evo 5's. I think i am gonna lean torwards these. 1 they are cheaper, and dont scream so much bling, but make the car look finsihed and more aggressive. still keeping the stock sleeper look. I am just waiting to hear back from those who are selling these..... I am itching for a set. Does going from 16 to 17' offer any real wolrd improvement in the handling department? is it night and day?

Its not night and day, but there is a noticeable difference in the lower profile tire.

Thanks dubbya. Also, has your car gotten sluggish since the rim swaP? And these wheels dont throw off the speedo right? The absolute diameter remains the same right?

The diameter stays about the same. I think the speedo is off by +3%.

Do a google search for a tire calculator. Or go to the tire/wheel forum. I think there is a link in the sticky.

2.8 percent off. meaning if you show 70 you are going 2.8% faster than that.

so with that being said, would that be affecting the odometer, meaning that that the odometer would actually register 2.8% less miles?
And this is percentage is for 02-03 se oem wheels with factory profile tires right?
I'm trying to understand this. even though the rim is 17 inches, doesnt the profile of the tire keep the diameter of the entire wheel/tire the same as my stock 16's? with factory tires?

1. Yes, if your speedo shows 70 the cops will radar you 72mph.

2. This is w/factory tires

3. The 17's are only 2.8% bigger in diameter than a stock 15" wheel w/factory tires. The speedo is calibrated to the stock wheels.

does this also affect the odometer? Meaning it will register less milage than actually traveled?

Heres a good question:

If you have a flat and use the donut in the back will that 2.8% different smoke the diff when you have to put it on the front.

I bought 2 of them from a local web site for $200 then I found 3 of them on ebay for the remainder. Actually now that I think about it I only paid $450 for all 5. The ebay deal was $250 shipped. The ones from Ebay were pretty ugly, but I have a friend that works at a dealership so they got swapped with some better ones from a trade in. I would have painted them myself if I didnt have the dealership option.

Basically bide your time and look for a good deal. It took me about 2 or 3 months of searching to find the deal I was happy with.

never go wrong with 02-03 wheels, they look very clean.

in fact, back in the days i tried to get a set of 02-03 wheels, but i end up with voxx mgrs, which is the one i have on my car right now. it's 5 spokes and a little bit skinner than 02-03 wheels. it's pretty clean as well...

I cant wait to get my 02-03 rims. hopefuly I can pick up a set of titanium ones. If you dont watch the wheels and tire section regularly, you can miss out! Once a good deal comes around, its snatched up within hours! ARGH! I am still debating between 17/18 inch mille migila evo5's or the 02-03 SE rims. I'm dying for rims already. I really want to pick up local as well. shipping is a bitc&! Is there a wbpage just for rims and tires, like classifieds?
