Cigarette lighter question

Can the lighter be used as a power source? I plugged an air compressor into mine and it started up for about a second and died and I couldnt get it to work again.

Check your fuse under the steering wheel.

Same exact thing happend to me about a week ago. It's your fuse under the steering wheel close to your driver door.Cost me like $.35 cents and now im back and running. I think those little air compressors burn out the fuse.

It's the fuse. It should not blow the fuse, I use mine for an air compressor all the time with no problem.

Maybe it shorted somewhere to blow the fuse, I did many stupid things to blow my fuse, and all the time it blew was because I accidentily shorted it.
