You should be able to get out of that pretty easily. In NY, the slightest inconsistency on the ticket is good grounds for dismissal ( I've even heard that if the cop doesn't put a slash through the 7, the whole ticket is automatically voided). Fight it, you really have nothing to lose. And if you do go to court, and the cops presence is required, she loses a days pay, that in itself makes it worthwhile ( lol )

They dont lose a day's pay. They schedule court when the cop is working and for parking tickets the officer doesn't have to be there. However the year must be correct so your ticket probably will be dismissed.

good luck on getting out on that one. The only thing that matters is the liscense plate and name, but mostly the plate. On ALL the parking tickets ive ever got, they always screw up the year and color. They write down 2000 and black instead of 96 and green. It might be different in NY, but it dont see why.

From experience as a former LEO, I can tell you that it wouldn't make a difference in Florida. Not really sure about NY, but as it has been mentioned, the proper plate ID and VIN go a long way in overriding such a minor mistake.

how are they expected to know the exact year of a model of car... I think plate, make, model and color are more than enough to pinpoint a certain vehicle.
Gotta admit though, $115 is friggin ridiculous for a parking ticket

well he failed to specify what the ticket was for. $115 is nohing compared to the fine you would get for parking in a handicapt space.

if the officer comes to court they usually get paid over time, which is more of an incentive for them to go. i got a ticket once and the wrong date was on it and u know what i still had to pay it. just pay it, u did something wrong so now u must pay the piper. buck up be a man and realize u made a mistake

I was actualy at the bank getting fast cash from the ATM! She literaly came out within 30 seconds of me leaving the vestabule! Im come running out, saying "im out, I'm out", hitting the keyfob ready to get the hell out of there. But she was like-"Sir- you already have a ticket, and I'm like, come on, you haven't even scanned my car yet! She told me she did it manually and cut me a copy. I snatched it from her and when I saw the amount I yelled "What the hell did I do? Was I doing 65 in a school zone or some $&!t? Anyway, I have nothing to lose by trying to get it dismissed. I was so mad I wanted to bust her skull in.

In NY they have it on the Registration sticker. And thanks to Bloomberg the prices for parking tickets doubled when he became mayor.

thats nothing, here in Amherst they make money by pulling people over and make dumb amounts of money from parking tickets and speeding tickets up to $200 max depending on how many times you've been pulled over, it can be for a rolling stop, and they'll just bust you down to a parking ticket and charge you $100, speeding ticket doubles in amount everytime you're pulled over for it. from my estimation, the Amherst court probably makes $200,000 to $500,000 a week from tickets alone...

were you parked in a handicap space? you didn't clarify. If you have the ***** to park in a handicap space then bendover and take the ticket like a man. Here in California its over $300 for parking in a handicap space, so you just don't do it. Don't be lazy park and walk.

if u kno the legal code to get it thrown out then u can tel that to the judge and it should be tossed. a ticket has to be written out perfectly for it to stand in court, but u need to kno the statute to get it tossed
