Does Nissan sell me this part alone, instead of the whole strut mount?
Instead of buying the complete strut mount, the part that I need to replace due to cutting it off is the Strut Bracket, part number 53422-31U00, as listed on this SUSPENSION PAGE. I've tried searching two wholesaler dealer parts websites (Pinnacle and Courtesy), and none of them are showing results for just that part, however, I can see they sell the strut mount. What I need to replace is Part 3 in the pic below. I'm going to call tomorrow, but I was curious to see if anyone knew the deal with this part. If I did go ahead and buy the strut mount complete, will it include this bracket that I need, or no?

part number 3
I'm trying to get to the magic 15 replies. So, even though you got it figured out, I'll reply anyway.
I haven't replaced that part on a Maxima, but I have replaced it on an Altima and they are sold individually. Expensive crap though, I think it was about $90. I do remember it was more than the strut I put on, even though its just a piece of metal with 3 studs stuck in it.

From what I am reading from your post, you need the part that has the three bolts which anchor the front strut mount. try this link. It is called the Bracket Back. http://www.nissanpart4u.com/oem_parts.html

I'm sure nissan will sell you that one part for as much as you can get the entire assembly aftermarket. You'll also need the bearing. Its a little plastic donut and if you had to grind into the strut mount i'm sure you caused damage to the bearing.

I'm replacing the bearing regardless, but no damage will come to the strut mount itself, only the bracket that I am replacing. I need to cut the strut mounting nuts off.
On another note: Why wouldn't I need to replace the bearing anyways, if I'm replacing the suspension, Paredline? I was told to absolutely replace this bearing in my other thread

That bracket is part of the strut mount assembly. That was my point. By the time you add up the bracket plus the bearing, you'll probably spend as much as you would if you went and got the whole assembly from the parts store.
