Problem with removing spoiler from the trunk.
I can't get the nut to come off the screw sticking out of the spoiler.
I started to remove it and the damn things are so rusted, the whole screw+nut started to spin.... and now seems like there's no other way but to break the screw or something.... but if I did that, there wouldn't be a screw comming out of the spoiler anymore.
If you had similar problem before and have some idea how to remove this, please let me know.

wait where are these nuts? ar they inbetween the two layers of metal? some russian guy was helping me out of the snow and he snapped my spoiler clean off, but i still have those things sticking outa my trunk..been tryin to figure out how to get em off.

Yea I thought about the nut splitter... but it's gonna be hard to get the nut splitter to the actual nut and would need to cut some of the metal away or something from inside the trunk.... oh well... i guess the spoiler is not going to leave the trunk.
willard00: haha that's some funny shiet. if you open the trunk and remove the liner, you can see the nuts... and if your spoiler was pulled by the russian guy and the screws are sticking out of your trunk, than probably, as soon as you remove the liner, those things will fall right out.
wd40 wouldn't work... the whole thing is spinning.

you can't grab or visegrip anything....there is no room. A nut splitter has no room either. I had the same exact problem. The end of the spoiler broke the little white tabs that hold it down. I thought it would be ok...until it started pulling the paint off the trunk by the bolt holes. Now my trunk is rotting, and I have rust streaks running down the back. I half-a$$ fixed it over xmas break. What you need to do, is just pull the nut out of the spolier....not the one in the trunk, but pull the whole assembly from the spoiler. The spoiler will go back on FINE with the other 3 threaded rods. Make sure to use some gasket sealant (or other silicone sealant) on all parts that are going to press back onto the trunk surface. This will keep water and corrosion away.

taking off the original spoiler usually results in breaking the bolts because they are rusted or stripping them from their mold in the spoiler, making the bolt and nut spin as one and they wont unscrew.
All this happend to me so I basically ripped the last few bolts out of the spoiler went to Homedepot, bought new nuts and bolts and then JB welded them into the spoiler. Then I installed the new dealer parts and put the whole thing back on.
