how are your interior pieces holding up after 11 yrs+?
this car is 11 yrs old, it was first lowered 2 years ago. everything seems to fall apart whenever i go over big bumps..i can hear squeeking and cracking sounds coming from all sides of the car. sometimes it doesn't squeeks, but sometimes it gets really annoying. my indiglow gauges sometimes dims out by itself, and then comes back up. one side of the stock bose speaker blew out too...
so....how are your interior pieces holding up?

I had to replace the shifter boots, shift ****, and the wood trim near the a/c vents and clock likes to peel. I replaced the wood trim with a good aftermarket wood trim kit once, and 2 years later that one peeled there too (I guess icy cold a/c blowing by a scorching hot wood trim would do that).
Otherwise, everything else is just fine.

Original interior (except for the '03 350Z Bose Stereo), that looks, fits, and feels new -- no squeaks or rattles at all. I just Armour All it once or twice a year (I don't know what the previous owner did), and wash it every month or two.
Entire interior feels and looks new. I've always loved the 4th gen dash. I see some people on the .org complain about the quality but I have no idea what the *** they're talking about. And I'm verrrrry picky.
Very little rattles/squeaks. Hopefully even less when the subframe connectors go on...

yeah, rattles used to be hardly noticeable, now im starting to hear them...
on top of that:
-cup holders can be pulled off effortlessly
-left center vent is missing fins, broke when trying to get vents out
-leather wore off of shift ****, bought AE ****
-need new boots badly
-dents and dings on my dash kit everywhere
-drivers seat is dirtier than all the others, its practically a different color (work in a shipyard)
everything else is pretty much good... im surprised my steering wheel hasn't started to wear out in one certain spot yet, it looks new still.. unlike my girl's 99

coupla rattles (most annoying one seems to come from the defroster vents by the windshield) and some of the black coloring is rubbing off the (vinyl?) front doors just below the windows.

Do you have pics of the 350 stereo in your 4th gen? I would like to see that.

The interior is black leather and the grey plush. I cleaned the leather with Turtlewax leather cleaner and I did the plastic parts with Turtlewax "Protect 2000", an old bottle I had lying around. (I have no connection with Turtlewax except as a satisfied customer). The black plastic looked grey before I applied the Protect 2000, and now it is solid shiny black. There are zero squeaks or rattles and the dash still looks perfect.
In fact I only have one problem: what to do about the steering wheel? The leather binding is worn and is letting down the rest of the car really badly.
I've got a couple of rattles I need to hunt down, but overall, my car is holding up well. I thought Audi's were going to be so much better sounding inside when I rode in a 99 A4 the other week, and it had it's fair share of rattles as well. That put things into perspective for me, and the few I have will be taken care of whenever I feel like it.
nismos:
No, I don't have a picture, nor do I have a digital camera, but I can describe the stereo. I love the ergonomics of it, and its overall look. An in dash 6 disc changer is awesome! What I don't like is that it lights up orange when everything else is white (I know I could change this if I were so motivated, but I am not so motivated), CDs skip a lot when it is cold (I have no idea if this is a common problem with 350Z stereos or if it is a result of getting bumped around in shipping). The big thing about installing this stereo is that its face is just a little bigger than the original and it is not a perfect rectangle. Therefore, I needed to Dremel down the plastic trim piece around the stereo's face. Everything "in back" connected just fine (with the addition of an adapter for a different antenna connection). Hope this helps.

very few problems in my oldie. Nissan did a good job making mine. The leather has begun to crack a lot on the drivers side (due to 20 years of having an a.s.s on it). the inside only began to make squeaks and rattle after my dual 12" subs rattled some things loose. Other than that, My interior is pretty good, going on 20 years. guess I am the only one
The e-brake boot is coming apart and the rear deck lid and top of the rear seats are fading, but thats just because the car's never been tinted. Other than that it's held together well.
everythin is still good except my window button wood trim is not in 1 piece no more but also my driver and passenger seat are aking its toll..but everythin looks like its straight of the factory
Mines fine. A few scratches here, some spots on the paint that can be touched up there, but overall it's great.
My only beef is I got some Liquid Nails on my passenger seat, and there's a little browny spot of crap there now. I could probably work it out with some elbow grease, but I'm too lazy at the moment. Maybe in spring.

i would try to find the part of the pillar that is rattling and then cushion it with foam weatherstrip... something like this http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...Id=10536348376
it comes in different sizes so you can get some really thin. hope that helps.

Mind you I have the car professionally detailed once a year and the interior is still like new.
RxR tracks elict some sharp rattles from the front windsheild pillars to the dash console. Most annoying however, are the leather inserts. They rattle like no one's business when the radio is on. Strangely after Nissan replaced my C/V boots the ride is much firmer in front and has caused harsher rattles than I'm used too. A major overhaul with squeek tape is in the immediate future.
I have a lot of road noise. I never really noticed it since i used to always have music on but i am really getting into driving without any tunes and just listening to the sound of traffic and my engine rev.
everyting is perfect in mine,*Im sure I just jinxed myself for saying that* The only complaint I have in my interior is the top of my steering wheel, it's all chipped off, Nissan's so called leather wheel never seems to stand the test of time, but I hear alot of people have a problem with that. Other than that no squeaks or cracks or nothing!
My interior is holding up just fine, Just normal wear and tear.....
As far as looks go, my interior looks pretty nice quality wise, since I've parked to some MUCH newer vehicles with much lower build quality ( not gonna mention names....GM "cough" Ford" ugh" )
