spraying pure oxygen...??
ok this might sound stupid but has anyone ever heard of spraying pure oxygen like you would nitrous....
ok since oxygen helps for bigger explosion with gas wouldnt you think if you sprayed pure oxygen into the intake it would create more hp since it would create a bigger explosion inside the motor...??
thoughts....
take it easy on the

to be quite honest, I have never thought of this. There has to be a good reason that I can't think of at the moment, as to why they don't do this. Nitrous is an oxidizer, and probably has more of an effect per unit volume than pure oxygen would. You can also get nitrous to be alot colder, and would also help out.

They have Liquid Oxygen, but its probably too expensive to do anything with practically. I used to work at an o2 and LOX filling plant, but i dont have connections there anymore. Im sure it really could work, even if its just sprayed on a radiator or intercooler.

flame away! Also you should have posted this in the nitrous section.
You are not the first one to ask. The problem is if one were to do this, it would burn as hot as a torch and melt components. The nitrogen helps buffer the burning. The atmoshere is composed of ~78% nitrogen and ~20% oxegen. Hence, N2O is like injecting liquid atmosphere.

Also, injecting oxygen would completely bollix the fuel management system and result in such a lean burn the pistons would hole and the valve seats burn up.
However there is one thing that DOES work that I have never seen mentioned: water mist injection.

I think this is a great idea and you should definately try it. Infact I heard if you mix liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen in your intake manifold it makes your car really fast, but I haven't tried it yet.

It occurs to me that nowadays it's possible to buy electronic humidifiers - I imagine these are ultrasonic - that emit a mist of fine water vapour droplets. One of these days I'll have to buy one, adapt it to 12V operation, and try it. But with no dyno available locally, proving any gains would be rather difficult...

Seriously though N20 just has a higher percentage of oxygen than regular air, which hovers between 20-22% of oxygen, depending on whether you're in LA during rush hour or in the middle of nowhere.
Anything higher than 35-40% and sh*t goes the way of the dodo.
And apparently, there used to be as high as 32-33% of oxygen in the air back when Dinosaurs lived, so if you really want your ride to be stupid fast 24/7, build a time machine.
If you want to do something more constructive and less batsh*t crazy though, find a a way to get the coolest possible air in your engine. Cooler air is denser (or "more compressed"). I've even heard of people thinking of using A/C air into the intake or something to that effect.
Or buy a big snail and quit fuking around.
