I believe I had a "main bearing" problem for about 20K
When I first bought my car, the clutch felt reallly really soft....
Then for aobut 1 month now, the cluch was feeling very hard to push (increased over time)

My brother was driving the car today... and here is what happen... he heard a noise.....and the clutch pedal is lose...
well I went to the car and feel the cluch and here is how it feels

it is lose while depresing, and very close to the firewall it feels very hard.... it looks like the clutch release bearing is not opening (kind)
could this be a trow out bearing (mentioned to me before)

Could be alot of things, try to take it to a trans shop as they will be able to diagnos it better.

 

Your trans is fine, you need a new clutch.

 

yeah sounds like clutch is ok ... probably bad throw-out bearing. Might as well replace the whole clutch as suggested above.

 

ok I just turned the car on to try to put it in gear....
well the clutch pedal does not open (Cannot engange any gear)
Also, when depressing the pedal... there is a strong vibration on the pedal (once there is resistence of the conpression)... well....
Ok, so I think I might as well replace the clutch........ damn

 

You need to have someone watch the clutch slave operate while you press the pedal. It could be a hydraulic problem, and although the clutch could be damaged as a result, replacing the clutch will not fix hydraulics problems.

Although you shouldn't be disappointed - a transmission internal problem is wor$e.

what kind of clutch do you have? exedy stg 1??

 

oem 4th gen
and from what I was told it was replaced 40k ago. (I have the recite)...
yeah it really feels like it is a problem with the the small parts of the clutch,
not the clutch disks or the transmission.......

NOTE: there is a increase sound under the hood, (like deeper griding sound) when pressing the cluch. (like there is something happening, the the clutch/trans/engine.... but no desingagment....

I can't drive the car (and the mechanic I trust is 10 miles away....) and I really need to get this problem solved by tomorrow night...

 

Try shutting the car off, putting it in gear, and starting her back up. If you can stay in gear then, you can drive to your shop. That's the only way we could drive an old '93 POS Accord that came into my school.

 

I thoguh of that, but there is about 100 lights from here to anywhere I need to go (stop sigs) and also my cara needs to be pushed out of my house to the street (busy street) and lastly if I put in 1st the car will jump and stall, in 2nd gear it might work.... but I find it risky, I might as well sign up for AAA and ask them ten minutes later to drive me somewhere.

HA HA I just remebered something.... my really really good friend has AAA, and I called them just now, and they will let me use their cards to tow my car to my mechanic.

 

mechanic just told me it is a broken clutch... I will order the clutch tonight, I have the oil and a new transmission to put it on....
if anyone can come and help out, I will give the old transmission and a prize. (the only thing with it, is it has a main bearing problem... no a hard fix for anyone that is willing to take the transmission...

I never put a transmission in, so I need someone experienced.... and I need this fast... (this week probably this weekend)
