Leak at IM gasket?

What kind of liquid would be coming form the IM gasket? It looks I have a leak there, at both gaskets. It almost looks like oil?

Something either sprayed, or leaked ON to it from another location.

Is your idle rough? Or does your engine speed drop significantly (say to 200 rpms) occasionally? I've been hunting down this problem, and believe it to be a leaking IM gasket. I need to figure this thing out.

Nope not at all. And the entire front part of the IM has oil or something on it, from the gasket to about 1 inch up on the alloy material or w/e the IM is made of.

Mine had that too, like it was leaking a little bit of oil. When I replaced my valve cover gasket, I replaced the IM gasket too.

gas/air/injector mixture is maybi more penetraiting than gas /air mixture.
maybi egr allows more mixture than normal to recirculate trough IM?

blame it on EGR

It does not make sense to have oil leaking from IM. EGR puts back exhaust gases into chamber, some of that stuff does look like oily. Have you just tried cleaning and see how soon it starts leaking again?
