Where to Buy CF hood ??

I went to get an estimate on my hood today and it doesnt look like its worth painting. If I paint it, then ill need to paint the fenders to match, then doors, and its not worth it.

Im looking for just a plain CF 4th gen hood, no fancy stuff, and definetly Rolled Egdes.

isn't there a different site something like carbonefx.com or something, where most people got their carbon parts from.

make sure it's multi-layered stuff that will last. Cheap ones are thin, and have the potential to crack/yellow.

I got mine from ebay but they are carbon efx. They are not rolled edges but they are good quality. Hasn't faded nor any signs of weakness. I would definitely recommend them.

Did you get a second coat of Clear coat on the hood, or did you install right after delivery ?? I hear of alot of guys getting anther coat of clear coat on it before they install because the factory clear coat on the CF isnt that thick ?

How come no Hood pins ??

i bought one off ebay. its not a carbonefx, its from optionracing. im not sure what the edges are. its really hard to get a decent hood for our car. none of the companies are actually that good anyhow. fiberimages is the best one out there, or were. they are about double the price of the average hood. anyhow, just pick one that fits your criteria.
mine seems to fit rather good, even around the headlights. many i have seen have a huge gap around the lights. these pix are as the hood comes. i did have to enlarge the stock hinge holes to get some adjustment for a good even fit. this is a $350 hood shipped so its nothing to brag about. the skeleton wasnt properly glued to the skin so i had to fix that. but i expect some flaws for something this cheap.

i have oem ford hood pins but havent installed them yet. i looked alot for a set that are stainless. every other hood pin i have seen have rusted up. http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=egnsearch.asp they are really nice quality.

so how do you keep the hood down. the edges aren't rolled? or you cant tell?
im guessing you didnt get another layer of clear coat sprayed on there.
and what do you mean skeleton wasnt glued to the skin?
doesnt sound like any major problems.
(also, where'd you get those wheels/ what brand are they?)

right now it held down buy the regular hood latch. i dont know what rolled edges look like, but mine arent raw or anything. no extra clear. the skeleton(frame) is supposed to be adheared to the top but the stuff they used didnt hold. those wheels are 3rd gen gxe wheels painted black sans the center cap.
