How long/many miles did your KYB AGX last?

A recent thread caught my attention, and has me a little worried. Two people have now claimed that their KYB AGX struts have failed within a couple years and a mere 40-50k miles. I bought my struts used, and now would like to know how long I should be expecting these things to last. So, there's a poll. Anyone with Illumina's can also post (NOT poll) so we can see a comparison of the two. Also: state what spring you paired the struts with.
I figured if the stock struts lasted this long, then my new performance struts should last just as long (I guess I was seriously mistaken). I know that stock struts would wear out fast with lowering springs, but figured that adjustable struts would be better for the job as far as longevity goes.
Thanks guys.

First i got S-tech springs on my stock strut, it blew within a months. after that i got my KYB AGX and i've been ridin on it for almost 6 months now and nothing had happen to it, still smooth and pretty good handling, depend how yu set it. But over all, its last long, to me.

my fronts have little milage compared to my rears. front have been on the car for less than 2 years but the rears are maybe close to 4 years old. both have been on stock springs, intrax, eibach, canuck, and/or and combo of them. they are still rough as hell.

I had at least 15K miles on my AGX. The previous owner probably had them for at least 15K miles on top of that.

However, prior owner had a problem with one of the AGX blowing out. One of the front shocks he had replaced.

Generally, struts are a bad thing to buy used --
Springs on the other hand are not really a wear item.

Look on the bright side -- if your KYBs are ready to fail, you could buy some nice new Illuminas.

I've had mine for about 45-50K (can't remember exactly). They're starting to squeak and feel a little sloppier than when I bought them.

Keep in mind, this is on NYC and surrounding suburban roads, and on a 2" sprint spring drop. There's probably no better way to beat the hell out of a set of struts than what I've been doing for the last 2.5 years on my AGX.

I would expect them to last a bit longer on better road conditions.
