extra switch blanks

I note that there are some locations for additional switches, just in front of the padded box between the front seats. They have plastic blanks. My question: Is there an existing set of cables under there, and if so, where do they go?

Those are coin holders if you don't have heated seats. There isn't any wiring there, at least there isn't in my '95 SE (w/o heated seats).

I don't think Maxima have heated seats until like '99 or something like that. Because I don't have heated seats in my '97 GLE.

never heard of blanks. Mine has three coin holders as well. If you end up pulling the trim up from around the shifter, you can feel that there isn't anything back there. It's kind of an awkward spot for any useful switches besides heated seats.

Your GLE also doesn't have a 5MT, so did Max's not come with a straight shift 'until '99 or something like that'?

Better go take the heated seat switches out of my '95 SE then, because they must not do anything

I have heated seats in my 96 I30, anyone else ever notice the extra wire bundle down there, near the heated seat switches. It is just wrapped up and goes nowhere.....never really tried to find source.

Hmmmm... My 1999 ES has the seat heater switches side by side. With the cup holder compartment to the right.

Coins go in the ashtray where they belong!

Wow I never thought I would learn so much with such an innocent question. Thanks guys. It just seemed logical to me that it would be a great place for switches. The idea of coin holders didn't occur to me. I have an automatic coin holder that leaves the car still holding the coins.
I am looking to fit a couple of 100W driving lights to supplement the feeble headlamps, that's why I wanted to know if there was any wiring there! Hmmm. Have to investigate. I don't have the heated seats but you never know...

If you have leather they are seat heaters. One for the driver and one for the passenger front seats.
