hmmm

well you didnt list any mods for either, but if you are both stock and both auto, its going to be a very close race i'd say. if he has a 5 speed, then you are most likely going to lose since you have an auto.

If both are auto and the Prelude is not Type SH then Max could win. A friend of mine got 98 or something with intake, exhaust, rims, and maybe some other mods I don't know couldn't even beat a slammed 96 accord with only intake of another friend of mine.
But anyway, to me just take him out for a race then you find out. The out come of the race depends alot on the skill of the drivers.

I heard that the SH is a bit slower in a straight line because of the added weight from the SH system.

Its VTEC!!!!! Not VTECH! Like it has been stated many times before, VTECH makes cordless phones. Anyways, it would really depend on which generation Prelude VTEC. The previous generation in 5-speed would probably kill ya. Its lighter than the current generation lude. The current gen lude is slower than the previous gen. The base model current gen is faster than the SH. Back to the question. I know the current gen ludes are beatable. I beat a 5-speed on the highway. He had at least intake and exhaust. I beat him twice. And I have an auto with some mods.

I pulled on a current gen prelude

yesterday coming off the 495 beltway onto 395 north into DC...It said VTEC on the rear, but not SH, so I don't know what model it was. Actually I should say I was pulling on her on 495 until we hit the entrance ramp to 395, and she got ahead of me going around it, but damn near skidded off the road going too fast around. I pulled past her slowly once we got onto the 395 straigt...too bad she wasn't as cute once I got next to her than she looked from the back (killer hair).
