gauge needles

gauge needles

just bought a new SE gauge cluster, and i noticed that needles are red/orange instead of blackish...what years had which styles?

The '95-'96 SE gauges had clear needles. I'm almost positive the '97+ SE gauges had red needles... you cant use light sand paper and make the red needles clear.

'97+ SE are orange needles, but they kinda look red. I'm sanding mine soon.

yea my '98 needles are see through red. Never knew the older 4th Gens had clears that sounds pretty cool.

Didn't he just say you cant sand them?.. I doubt he'd just say that for no reason lol.

95-96 Is black/white. This could be answered in the stickies IIRC.

well i didnt think something so subtle would be in the stickies and i actually like the red needles better then the clearish ones

Actually '97+ SE needles can be sanded, they have the coating on the underside. Other models can not be sanded off, those needles are made colored.

And the info is in the stickies. Just gotta go farther in.

Yes I think you can, you just have to sand under the needle not on top. I think ive seen it done before.
