Cleaned TB! Also have TPS Question

Lately my idle rpms, have dropped from 700-650 down to 550-500... obviously unacceptable... i got the time today to finally go out and clean the TB. Fixxed that problem. I still think the car is not running 100%... I tested the TPS
hot, throttle closed resistance is about 590 ohms.
Haynes says it should be 500 ohms. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with TPS and knows if that 100 ohms diff from spec is worth worrying about. Also I tried to loosen the TPS screws to see if I could wiggle it a little to get the reading right, but it's appearnt the only way I am gonna get those TPS screws loose is if I take off the TB (tried to get them off and stripped one before giving up.. they're on TIGHT!), which I am not gonna do unless I need to.
Throttle open reading is to spec, and I have no codes ...

ive been messing with my new TPS for the past couple days.
as far as the actual position it should be in, im still not sure how accurate that "voltage/ohm" thing is.
as far as taking it off, yeah i ended up taking my TB off. its not that hard actually. if you use some beefy pliers its possible to loosen them while on the car i think.
i am still trying to figure out about the positioning man, so im in the same boat. annoying as hell. i get the studder at idle. it idles at 650 and dips down occasionally causing a vibration.
man.....annoying as hell. did you clean your IACV as well? i did, still getting some problems although the problem keeps changing.

Yeah, I cleaned the IACV a couple of months ago... oddly it wasn't that dirty at the time... The Throttle body didn;t look that dirty at the time either... but it was now! So maybe my IACV needs cleaning now.
My idle just seems to be a little unstable... Sometimes it pulses a little.. Maybe it was all just cause the TB needed to be cleaned. Maybe the ECU just needs to catch up now that it's been cleaned, and it will stabilize as I drive around tomorrow lol.
I still think some sensor is on it's way out but not completely. O2 or ECTS (which I am changing tomorrow) or something. I just think that maybe it's getting too much gas at idle cause the ECU thinks it's at just slightly open throttle, then the O2 sensor see's rich mixture and trims fuel and the cycle repeats...also the little switch in the TPS that is supposed to be closed when the Throttle is closed is not (there's 2 pins on the connector that are supposed to show continuity when the throttle is closed). I guess I'll remove the TB tomorrow or tuesday. and get the damn screws off and see if I can't persuade it to do what it needs to.

Still lemme know if anyone has a thought.

When you take off the IACV, you will see a metal round thing that is held down by 3 screws. Take those off and you will see a lot of dirty black crap in there. I've been having a dropping idle problem in my car, unfortunately cleaning the IACV hasn't helped.

I've tried replacing the ECTS also but its very hard to get to it because theres so many wires/hoses around it.

Make sure you use some lock tight on the 3 small screws.

spiff56747, I was able to get my ECTS off pretty easily. Are you going after the sensor that is closest to the upper radiator hose?

Curious as to the reason for lock tighting the screws? I didn't, but I made sure they were snug. Does the tightness of the screw affect operation in some way or you're just being safe rather than sorry?

I'm pretty sure its the right one, I can't find the pic of it now. I couldn't get the electrical connector off it, theres not enough room to get my fingers in there. It's the one closer to the firewall, correct?

No, that one is for the temperature gauge in the dash. It is the bigger of the two, the one closer to the radiator.

i am also having troubles with my idle, RPMs would go up to 1300 at normal temperature and and come back down to 450-550. CEL lit up yesterday and got 1206(tps), 403(tps) and 1106(something about the 3rd gear ratio).
dont have any idea what to fix.....!

To get back on topic, I had a dropping idle and so I cleaned my IACV.. now the idle is higher about half the time, and sometimes it shoots up to 1000 rpm.. the other half the time its 650 and still drops below 500 sometimes when braking.
