Strut Spacer Replacement?

I'm collecting parts for the strut replacement that I'm about to do myself. I've been all over the forum posts and am still wondering......Should I order the spacers (gaskets)?....or are these made of standard gasket material?...or are these typically reuseable? My max has about 160K miles, and I don't yet know in what kind of shape I'll find the old parts. The cost at Courtesy Nissan is $17 for the rears and $8 for the fronts....totalling about $50.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I made the rear ones out of gasket material. They are expensive!! The front ones I bought. They are reusable depending on the age/mileage of the car.

Yeah....I was wondering why the original equipment gaskets are made of polyurethane. I thought it might be due to the water resistant properties. If so, typical gasket material might be water absorbent and create a rust situation.

The OEM gaskets are paper. The orange ones fit between the top of the strut assembly and the fender. They just keep moisture from getting to the strut assembly. Quite sure these are paper!!

That was the answer I was hoping for (but I thought I read in an earlier post that they were made of poly)....I'm with you, $17 for a rear gasket is rediculous. Thanks to all for your responses.
