rear (brake light?)

I've owned this car for 3+ years and just now noticed that the red lens in the rear spoiler/wing doesn't light up when the brakes are applied ...I don't remember if it ever did! Perhaps a very dumb question to be asking now, but is this a third brake light with the bulb burned out or is it just a dummy reflector?? Believe me; I DO feel silly for asking!!!! Doug

It is supposed to, although I am not sure how to change that bulb. I'll check on it for you though.

Thank you... I felt silly asking, but at least now I know! Please let me know how to change the bulb. Remove lens? How?
Again, Thanks!! Doug

You really ought to test that your hotwire is hot when the brakes are applied first. Could be a fuse or wiring.

GOOD POINT!! OK, I will locate the wire going up through the trunk/lid/spoiler and if it tests hot...how will I get to the bulb? Does the lens just "pop" out/in??

Mine doesn't have a spoiler so I don't know. Isn't it LED? If it is it has to be expensive to replace.

It is an LED panel. There was a thread on this a few days ago with a site that had replacements. I'll see if I can find it.

My connector for those rusted out some how. And the wiring was just messed up. I just rewired them and looks good again.
