inner tail ights use a different harness.

some have needed a new trunk latch some havent. My trunk closes fine but trunk poper doesnt work, I'm going to get the 97+ latch and see if that fixes it.

EVERYTHING matches up. All harnesses will connect. All you need to change out is the lock thingy because the 95/96 is different then 97-99.

all harnesses will not connect. the connectors for the inner tail lights need to be from 97+. The 96 harness for the light bulb wont fit into the back of the 97 inner tail light.

I put a 97+ on my car. my 96 inner light connectors wouldnt work. it would plug into the harness, but when putting the bulb into the back of the light to twist, it wouldnt fit.

So what does not light up? I tested this trunk on my car and all the lights work... reverse, brake, etc.

well if everything work then all is good.

Now that I think about it my GenII's may have something to do with it. My 96 harness wouldnt fit (too big for the opening), but I had a 97+ harness and that fit and worked.

if all works and fits then nothing to worry about, must be with my setup.

dont worry about me, I think my GenIIs are the cause. If you have the regular OEM lights going in the back you should be fine.

hope yours matches your car. . . mine doesnt going to be one interesting time taking the lid off to get painted and driving with no trunk

I did the swap to 97+ and sold the 96 lid.

When I'm ready to pain, hopefully a junk yard will have one for sale (hopefully for dirt cheap).

Or hope to get a CF lid before I paint.

I just need a temp lid, dont want to spend that much on it, I'm sure just the shipping of your lid would be more than my budget, doesnt have to be pretty or match at all, just close somewhat, and stay in place while mine is getting painted.

how much are you looking to get for it?

hot damn thats right up my alley!

but shipping is going to run ~$100...

$50 would be perfect, but shipping will push the price up.
